For those of you who are 'do it yourself' junkies, I have finally admitted to myself that I am now
part of the club. I love watching all of those programmes on TV so when Todd went away for a long weekend (as he often
does with work) I decided to get our living room done. We had both seen this colour in a friend's home and loved it,
so I managed to find out the colour and get the paint without him knowing.
Little did I know that it would be such a momentous undertaking. Not so much the preparation
and painting, but the two little children who needed to be taken care of. Especially one of them who thought that running
around like a mad loon while I was painting was excellent fun. I had a few rather gorgeous handprints on the wall that
I wanted to preserve, but it would have taken some explaining to the people who move in here after us.
Anyway - I took some before and after photos - see what you think of our new room. Everyone
has commented that it makes the room seem warmer and more cosy. I tend to agree - I love it myself and Todd loved it
when he finally got to see it.
By the way, if you're interested, the colour I used is "Ruby Lips", a really gorgeous deep red that
goes with all the different coloured toys that are constantly spread out over the floor!
